Howard A. Chajson is a shareholder of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. He concentrates his practice in the area of civil litigation, with a particular emphasis in medical malpractice defense. He also practices in the area of appellate law.
In his medical malpractice work, Mr. Chajson represents physicians, practice groups, and hospitals through their insurance carriers, self-insured programs, and directly. Mr. Chajson also has represented mental health care providers, pharmacists, physical therapists, and various other types of health care providers. He has handled a wide spectrum of medical cases, including matters in the areas of anesthesiology, cardiology, colon and rectal surgery, critical care, dermatology, endocrinology, emergency medicine, family medicine, gastroenterology, hematology, hepatology, infectious disease, internal medicine, neonatology, neurology, neurosurgery, obstetrics, oncology, pathology, pediatrics, pharmacology, radiology, toxicology, and transplant surgery. In addition, he also handles credentialing, peer review, and general counseling on behalf of his health care clients.
Mr. Chajson has over 22 years of jury trial and appellate court experience. He is admitted to practice before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, and the American Bar Association.
He has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America® in the area of medical malpractice law and maintains an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Chajson graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business in 1984 with a B.S. in Economics. He received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1987, graduating cum laude and Order of Barristers. During law school he served as a member of the National Moot Court Team and as Notes and Comments Editor of the Law Review.
